Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 20 September 2026
Platform operator:
Talent Journey, LDA
NIPC: 518824799
Registered office: Rua da Baldrufa, nº 239, 2º Fração T, 4990-035 Ponte de Lima, Portugal
Email: support@talentjourney.tech
Website: talentjourney.tech
Platform: app.talentjourney.tech
We are Talent Journey. We operate the Platform and, in some cases, provide global mobility, employee and student relocation, and settle-in services (the "Services").
"You" / "Talent" means the natural person using the Platform for relocation or settle-in purposes. If family members are included, "you" includes them, and you must ensure they understand these Terms. "Client" means a company that may have contracted for services on your behalf. "Provider" means a business that uses the Platform to serve its own clients.
By accepting these Terms, creating an account, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by them.
1. How These Terms Apply
You may use the Platform in one of the following ways. The invitation email and your account will show which applies.
1.1 Company-sponsored Direct Services
Your employer or sponsor (the Client) contracted Talent Journey to provide relocation services for you. The Client usually pays our fees. You still have duties to cooperate. These Terms apply in addition to your arrangements with your employer. Parts A and B apply.
1.2 Direct Services you buy yourself (B2C)
You contracted Talent Journey yourself. You pay us. These Terms (and any order confirmation we send) govern that relationship. Parts A and B apply. If you are a consumer, Section 12 (withdrawal) and Section 20.3 (consumer courts) also apply.
1.3 Provider-invited
A Provider invited you. That Provider, not Talent Journey, delivers the relocation or related professional services. We supply Platform access. Parts A and C apply. Fees, quality, and outcomes of the underlying work are between you and the Provider (and, if relevant, your employer).
If both apply (for example your employer uses us for you, and a Provider for someone else), each case follows its own rules.
Part A — Platform terms (all Talents)
2. Account
2.1 Eligibility
You confirm that registration information is true and complete, you are at least 18 (or using the Platform only as a parent/guardian for a child's family case), and you have capacity to agree.
2.2 Access
Company-sponsored or Provider-invited users receive an invitation and must accept it and complete a profile. Direct users register or accept our invitation.
2.3 Security
Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect misuse. Do not share login details; family members who need services should have their own access where the Platform provides it.
2.4 Features
You may view status, upload documents, message the team handling your case, receive notices, use guides and scheduling tools we enable, and (where enabled) talk to Joya, our on-Platform AI assistant (a flamingo).
2.5 Joya
Joya is an AI assistant, not a human adviser. It can help with questions and next steps using information already on your case. It does not decide visas, permits, or housing. Treat its output as support only, not legal, tax, or immigration advice. You (and, where relevant, your Client or Provider) remain responsible for what is submitted to authorities and landlords.
AI features may be subject to usage limits stated in the order confirmation or your organisation's Order Form.
2.6 Communication
Please use the Platform for day-to-day case communication. We cannot guarantee timely handling of items sent only by other channels unless we asked you to use them.
2.7 Prohibited activities
You must not: use the Platform unlawfully; harass staff or other users; submit false information; upload malware; attempt unauthorised access; spam; scrape the Platform; or transfer your account.
We may suspend or terminate for breach.
3. Your Cooperation
Relocation depends on your participation, whether we or a Provider handle the professional work.
You must:
- Attend scheduled appointments on time (authorities, viewings, banks, and similar). Give at least 24 hours' notice if you cannot attend, where possible. Missed appointments can cause long delays. We (and the Provider, if any) are not responsible for delay caused by a missed appointment.
- Provide requested documents promptly, accurately, and legibly. Obtain home-country documents, translations, and legalisations as instructed. Providing false documents can lead to visa refusal and legal consequences.
- Respond to Platform messages within 48 hours, or sooner if we mark a request urgent. Keep working contact details and tell us (or the Provider) about changes in job, address, family, or travel.
- Follow instructions and ask if something is unclear.
- Pay third-party costs that are your responsibility (Section 11 or your Provider's terms).
- Tell the truth in applications, including past visa refusals or immigration or criminal history that may be relevant.
If you do not cooperate, the case may be paused, extra work may be chargeable by whoever provides the service, your Client may be informed (for sponsored cases), and services may be ended after notice.
Warning: False statements to immigration authorities are serious and can lead to refusal, bans, and other legal consequences.
4. Privacy
We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. That Policy explains when we are controller and when a Provider is controller.
If a Client pays for your case, they may see status, timelines, required actions, and invoicing for what they pay. They do not receive your underlying identity documents through us unless you agree or they must have them for a legal role.
If you pay separately for extra work the Client does not pay for, that work is a separate case. The Client has no access to it.
You have GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdraw consent, complain to the CNPD). Email privacy@talentjourney.tech. If a Provider is controller of your case content, we will pass rights requests to them where we are only the processor.
We process children's data only as part of family relocation, with parental or guardian consent.
5. Intellectual Property and Acceptable Content
We own the Platform and our materials. You keep your documents. You grant us a licence to host and use uploaded content to operate the Platform and, for Direct Services, to perform the Services.
Do not upload content you have no right to share.
Part B — When Talent Journey provides the Services
6. The Services
6.1 What may be included
The exact scope is the package your Client selected or that you selected. It may include:
- Immigration-related support (residence permits or visas, NIF, NISS in Portugal)
- Settle-in support (accommodation search, health-centre registration, bank-account guidance, phone contracts, fiscal address)
- Other administrative support agreed with you or your Client
You can see your package and status in the Platform.
6.2 Case-specific information
Guidance is based on your circumstances. Do not share it as if it applied to other people. Friends or colleagues need their own assessment.
6.3 What we cannot guarantee
We cannot guarantee visa or permit approval, suitable housing, specific processing times, or appointment availability. Those depend on authorities, landlords, and markets. Time estimates are informative only.
We will use reasonable efforts to achieve a beneficial result without unnecessary delay.
You submit most applications yourself with our preparation and guidance. In limited cases you may grant Power of Attorney (for example for a NIF), so we can act in your name. We still cannot control third-party decisions.
We are not lawyers, tax advisers, or accountants. Introductions to professionals are optional; their fees are separate unless your order says otherwise.
7. Fees when you pay us
7.1 Who pays
If your Client contracted us, they typically pay our service fees. You may still owe third-party costs (Section 11). Payment disputes with your employer are for you and them in the first instance.
If you contracted us directly, you pay the fees in your order confirmation or agreement. VAT is added where required.
If your employer asks you to pay part (for example family members), we invoice you for that part. Your employer's payment status does not cancel your invoice.
7.2 Direct-pay terms
Unless your confirmation says otherwise: invoices we issue to you are due within fourteen (14) days; you may pay by bank transfer as stated on the invoice; we may pause work if you are overdue.
7.3 Late payment (direct pay)
If you are a business, we may charge commercial late-payment interest as allowed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer, we may charge default interest at the legal rate after notice, and we may pause or end services if you are more than 30 days overdue, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights.
7.4 Invoice disputes
Tell us in writing within seven (7) days of the invoice if you dispute it. Undisputed amounts remain due.
7.5 Cancellation after withdrawal period
If you or your Client cancel after any withdrawal period has ended (or does not apply), any refund or credit is as stated in the order confirmation. If it is silent, you (or the Client) pay for work already performed; we do not refund for completed stages. Any credit we offer is for future services with us unless mandatory law requires a cash refund.
7.6 Fee changes
For Direct Services you buy, we will give at least thirty (30) days' notice of fee changes. They apply to new orders, not to services already ordered at a fixed price. You may cancel future unused services within 14 days of notice if you disagree.
Company-sponsored fee changes are handled between us and the Client.
8. Third-party costs
Our service fees do not include government fees, translations, apostilles, notaries, couriers, rental deposits, agent fees, utilities, insurance, travel, or similar. You (or your Client, if they agree with you) pay those to the relevant third party.
We will tell you through the Platform before optional third-party costs are incurred where we reasonably can. Amounts charged by governments and suppliers change. We may give estimates; actual amounts can differ. We are not liable if actual costs exceed estimates.
9. Liability (Direct Services)
We will use reasonable skill and care.
We are not liable for: authority refusals or delays; missed appointments caused by you; inability to find housing that meets your wishes; market-driven cost increases; law or policy changes; government-system failures; third-party service quality; or delay caused by your late replies — except to the extent caused by our intent or gross negligence.
If you are a business, our liability for a Service is limited to the fees you or your Client actually paid us for that Service, and we are not liable for indirect loss (including lost employment, extra travel, temporary housing, income loss, or distress), except as the next paragraph requires.
If you are a consumer, we are liable for foreseeable loss caused by our failure to provide the Services with reasonable care, as Portuguese consumer law requires. We do not exclude liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by us, or any duty that cannot be limited. We are not liable for outcomes that the law places on authorities or other third parties.
You will compensate us for loss caused by your breach, false information, or unlawful acts, except where we caused the loss.
10. Ending Direct Services
Company-sponsored duration follows the Client's contract with us. Direct-pay services last until the ordered work is finished or ended under these Terms.
You may end Direct Services by written notice. Cancellation consequences follow Section 7.5 and, if you are a consumer, Section 12. You remain liable for work already lawfully performed.
We may end services immediately if you provided false information, persistently fail to cooperate, commit a material breach and do not remedy within 14 days, engage in prohibited activities, or (for direct pay) fail to pay for more than 30 days.
On ending: we will finish urgent in-progress steps where reasonable; you remain liable for fees for work done; we will give you copies of key documents we prepared for you; we may deactivate the account. Data is kept as in the Privacy Policy. You may request a copy before deletion.
Part C — When a Provider provides the services
11. Our Limited Role
Talent Journey hosts the Platform. The Provider is responsible for professional services, advice, filings, housing work, appointments they manage, and their fees.
We do not guarantee the Provider's work or third-party outcomes they handle.
Questions about your package, invoices from the Provider, and service quality go to the Provider. Platform login and technical issues can go to us at support@talentjourney.tech.
You still must follow Part A (account, cooperation, honest information). The Provider may have additional terms with you; those do not bind us unless we signed them.
Part D — Consumer withdrawal, complaints, general
12. 14-day withdrawal (consumers buying Direct Services)
If you are a consumer who contracted Talent Journey at a distance or off-premises for Direct Services, you generally have 14 days from the day the contract is concluded to withdraw, without giving a reason, under Decree-Law 24/2014 (as amended).
How to withdraw: a clear statement to support@talentjourney.tech or by post to our registered office (a simple email with your name and "I withdraw" is enough). You may use the model form in the Annex to Decree-Law 24/2014; you do not have to.
Effects: we reimburse fees you paid us for the withdrawn contract without undue delay and within 14 days of being informed, using the same payment means unless you agree otherwise.
If you asked us to start during the 14 days: you pay an amount proportionate to the Services provided until you told us you withdraw, relative to the full contract.
Loss of the right: if you requested performance during the withdrawal period and we fully performed the Services, and you acknowledged that you would lose the right to withdraw once the contract was fully performed, the right ends when performance is complete.
This Section does not apply to company-sponsored contracts where you are not our consumer customer, or to Provider-invited cases (your rights are against the Provider).
13. Complaints
- Contact the case manager on the Platform (or the Provider, if Part C applies).
- If unresolved, email support@talentjourney.tech.
- Ask for escalation.
- For company-sponsored cases you may also contact your employer's HR team.
We aim to acknowledge complaints within three (3) business days and address them within fourteen (14) days.
If you are a consumer in Portugal, you may also use the electronic Livro de Reclamações at www.livroreclamacoes.pt and authorised consumer alternative-dispute-resolution bodies. The European Commission ODR platform is available at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We will publish any ADR entity we join.
You may complain to Portuguese consumer authorities. Data-protection complaints go to the CNPD (see the Privacy Policy).
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms if we improve the Platform, change Services, need to clarify rights, or the law changes, or for other objective reasons.
We will give at least thirty (30) days' notice by email or Platform notice. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Platform and, for Direct Services you pay for, terminate unused future services. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Changes do not rewrite a fixed-price Direct order already placed, except as that order allows.
15. Entire agreement
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any order confirmation or Client/Provider contract that lawfully binds you, are the agreement for Platform use and, where relevant, Direct Services. Other pre-contract statements are excluded only to the extent permitted by law. Consumers keep all mandatory rights.
16. Other terms
No waiver is effective unless in writing. If a clause is invalid, the rest stays in force.
You may not assign these Terms. We may assign to an affiliate or successor with notice.
These Terms are in English. If translated, English prevails, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Neither party is liable for force majeure (including epidemics, natural disasters, war, government acts, or government-system failure). If it lasts more than 30 days, either party may terminate on written notice.
These Terms do not create employment, partnership, or agency.
No third party may enforce these Terms, except your Client may enforce provisions that protect them if they pay for Direct Services.
Duties that by nature survive (payment, liability, privacy, IP) survive termination.
17. Contact
Support: support@talentjourney.tech
Privacy: privacy@talentjourney.tech

18. Acceptance
By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using the Services, you confirm that you have read these Terms and agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
19. Governing law
Portuguese law applies, excluding conflict-of-law rules and the CISG.
20. Courts
20.1 Business users
If you use the Platform for a trade, business, craft, or profession, the courts of Ponte de Lima, Portugal have jurisdiction.
20.2 Negotiation
The parties will try in good faith to resolve disputes for thirty (30) days before filing a claim, without limiting interim relief or consumer rights.
20.3 Consumers (important)
If you are a consumer under Portuguese or EU law, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your habitual residence in the EU, and we may bring proceedings against you only in those courts, as Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 and mandatory consumer law require. Nothing in these Terms takes away those rights.
END OF TALENT TERMS
These Terms are effective as of 20 September 2026. We may update them under Section 14.
